Versace kicks off Paris Fashion Week with model army

Versace kicked off Haute Couture week as part of Paris Fashion week (sun 24) with a super model army which has girl power written all over it. The all star super model line for the SS16 collection included Rosie Huntington- Whiteley, Irina Shayk, Behati Prinsloo and Joan Smalls, and let’s not forget Gigi Hadid who closed the show. Donatella Versace said she was “thinking about women at their most focused and dynamic, we wanted to show the softer side of Versace“. It was the busiest of models, strong women, beauty of the female body at its peak in celebration of the female figure. Modelling the Italian label gowns in thigh high splits, and plunging necklines and sculptured floor length dresses- extremely daring and minimal clothing with heavy, striking detailing to enhance the female form. Front row Rita Ora was wearing the most naked dress of all time, mimicking Joan Smalls on the catwalk in Versace. Versace set the bar high for shows to come.
