Mango is following suit with other brands set to push cultural boundaries with a new collection forRamadan which is a Muslim friendly range of clothing for women during the holy month of fasting. It’s reassuring to know there are retailers who are catering for a more diverse consumer as it is underserviced. Other brands have previously done just that: Marks and Spencer’s in 2013, DKNY in 2014, Uniqlo had a recent collection of head scarfs, H&M last year, Dolce and Gabbana earlier this year as seen in a previous article (here). And now the Spanish brand Mango.
The 45 piece new line will feature casual wear in a range of kaftans, jackets, leggings, shirts, tunics, dresses, midi skirts, double-layered body wraps in both fitted and oversized styles, available in faux suede, lace, and satin detailing, floral prints and denim fabrics
“Exclusive designs in line with the cultural and religious norms of countries in different regions, such as the Middle East.”
The high street brand is hitting stores today (May 30th) 1 week ahead start before Ramadan is due to begin(June 6th). Mango has over 2200 stores, this includes Middle Eastern stores too at affordable prices
